Week of January 13, 2020
Monday:  Students finished up their World War II vocabulary slides and we discussed events between the U. S. and Japan leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor.  Students read through speeches from FDR and George W. Bush and compared them.
Tuesday:  We discussed aspects of the two speeches and completed a chart together discussing different aspects of each speech.  We discussed the vocabulary quiz for Wednesday.  We began discussing the European Theater of World War II, beginning with what theater means in relation to war.  We discussed the goals of the Allies, which one might be most important, and began discussing major military leaders of the American forces.
Wednesday-Thursday:  Students took notes over the Battle of the Bulge, D-Day, the Holocaust, V-E Day, and the Nuremberg Trials.  They found information on their own about the American homefront during World War II.

Week of January 6, 2020
Monday-Tuesday:  no school for students
Wednesday:  Students were given an opportunity to look at their semester exam and ask questions about what they missed.  We began talking about the dictators who had an impact on Europe and Asia leading up to World War II.
Thursday:  We finished talking about dictators leading up into World War II.  The students, in their groups, were then given 12 vocabulary terms that they needed to know and understand as we begin our World War II unit.  For each term, the group had to define the term, find a picture illustrating that term, find a sentence from the World War II era using that term, and find synonyms for that word.  They will continue working on it Monday Jan. 13th.
Friday:  Today was a C day.  Students discussed with me their options for government and economics for next year and they also worked on certain aspects of their Personalized Learning Plan.
